Mrs. Casiana Freshman English March 2, 2012 Football or Baseball? America’s pastimes are Football and Baseball, which are similar yet vastly different. Enough though Baseball and football may require some of the same talents they are also different in many ways. When comparing Football and baseball they both have the same goal obviously, and that is to win. When it comes to the scoring system for football and baseball they have way different types of scoring. Football can kick a field goal which is worth three points. Someone can score a touchdown by throwing the ball, running ball, getting an interception, or fumble, and that is worth six points and after that the kicker can kick the football through the uprights for an†¦show more content†¦When a team is on offense there is only one player up to bat at a time and no more than three base runners at one time. A team plays on offensive until the defense gets three outs. Then they switch sides. Players that are in the pros make the big bucks. Some of the top notch players in ea ch sport make millions and millions of dollars. For instance Albert Pujols plays baseball and is arguably the best player to play the game right now and signed a 9 year contract that is worth over 200 million dollars! Football fight to get bigger salaries because they feel the need to get paid more since they have a greater risk of getting injured. Baseball the players don’t argue as much as football players when it comes to salary. Both football and baseball both have playoffs, which are after the regular season is over. When making it into the playoffs are football there is a single game elimination which means once a team loses they are done for the rest of the season. Then once there is only two teams left to play then that means they are in the championship otherwise known as the super bowl. like football, baseball also has playoffs but instead of it being a single game elimination they play a series of games against one team. The series of best of seven games wh ich means the first team to win four games in that series moves on further into the playoffs.
